Inspired by the works of Sophocles, Emma Dante embraces the myth of Oedipus and transposes it to the world of nomads, recounting the destiny of the tragic hero from his childhood up to his death in Colonus. In a long migratory journey, Oedipus and his own wander from one dark world to another searching for shelter.
Highly aware of the situation of nomadic people around the world, Sicilian author and director Emma Dante, works with a team of 16 young actresses and actors of the drama school of Teatro Biondo in Palermo.
The distinctiveness of this performance is the interest Emma Dante grants the feelings of these young actresses and actors, all from different regions of Italy who shared with her a raw impression of uprooting, exile and isolation.
