It is a gift these women give.
If one thinks to give necessarily implies to lose something, then one can’t understand.
Pour autrui [Surrogate]
Liz is 35 years old and travels the world to manage construction sites and grow green roofs. Alexandre is a puppeteer, often on tour and in hotels. A snowstorm in Frankfurt leeds them both to be stuck in the airport and to meet. Love at first sight is followed by couple’s life and soon the desire to have a child. But things do not go as planned. Life brings them on an unexpected path, where Liz and Alexandre will discover within themselves an unsuspected strength which will lead them to cross the ocean and meet Rose, who bears the name of a flower and the wish to carry their child.
Pauline Bureau has been exploring for several years the lives of women of contemporary society. With this new show, she sets light on what defines a family today and challenges prejudices on the concept of gift.
