overview
After the fall of the Berlin wall, three women, the grandmother,
daughter and granddaughter take possession of their family house again, formerly bought to a Jewish couple. The restitution laws have given them back this property they had deserted to go to the West. Everything could fall into place, but memory and the way it weaves legends haunt the place. Marius von Mayenburg, being himself of the first generation of adults of reunified Germany, does not write a historical play: he observes how human beings live, neither heroes nor bastards.
