Le Cabaret discrépant

Between installations and performances, between dance and theatre, this “hypergraphic and super-polemic” recital reactivates the subversive spirit and the juvenile energy of the founders of the lettrism movement, a forgotten avant-garde of the late forties. Olivia Grandville included in this performed conference 19 “chiselling ballets” inspired by one of their manifestos. The “dance-debate”, “backwards strip-tease”, and “near anti-ballet” are intriguing premonitions for contemporary dance. The show, presented in Avignon in 2011 will be presented in a new version imagined for La Colline.
